Jonny Bairstow was the wicket-keeper who was out of the bag after Mumbai Indians bought Ishan Kishan for a whopping amount of 15.25 crores.
The initial bid was made by his former team Sunriser Hyderabad at his base price of 1.5 crores and then was later joined by Punjab Kings who battled to sign the English wicketkeeper. And at the end defensive strategy of SRH cost them their seasoned wicket-keeper and lost the bidding war to Punjab Kings who got him for 6.25 crores.
Punjab have bought Shikhar Dhawan in the marquee set of players in the first round of the auction earlier this morning for 8.25 crores and now have strengthened their squad with the signing of Jonny Bairstow.
