Day 2 of IPL Auction 2022 started with the bidding of South African cricketer Aiden Markram. Markram was sold to SRH for INR 2.6 crore after an exciting bidding contest between Mumbai Indians, Punjab Capitals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Ahead of Markram, the next man in for auctions was India’s veteran cricketer, Ajinkya Rahane. KKR was the first to bid for Rahane at INR 1 crore. No other team seemed interested to bid for former Rajasthan Royals captain. Rahane was then sold at this base price of INR 1 crore to KKR.
Next up was England’s T20 expert Dawid Milan, who has been ranked No.1 T20 batsmen in ICC rankings. Surprising Dawid Milan went unsold. Following Malan, the next man for bidding was Mandeep Singh, who was sold to Delhi for INR 1.1 crore after a thrilling bidding contest between Lucknow and Delhi.
The following players up in the queue were Marnus Labuschagne, KKR’s former captain Eoin Morgan, Saurabh Tiwary, Australia’s skipper Aaron finch, and India’s veteran Cheteshwar Pujara, who all went unsold.
It was shocking for the cricketing world to witness aggressive batsmen like Aaron Finch and Eoin Morgan go unsold.
