Rain stops, covers come off in Guwahati

There was a positive update from Guwahati as rain eased around 7:17 PM IST, allowing ground staff to begin removing the covers ahead of the IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians.

The outfield is now being attended to, with groundsmen starting the clean-up process. Earlier delays had been caused by steady rain and lightning, but conditions have improved enough for preparations to resume. The focus is now on drying the surface to assess match readiness.

Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag was seen out in the middle along with team staff, inspecting conditions as work continued. Reserve umpire Kannur Swaroopanand is also monitoring the situation closely.

Inspection underway, toss timing awaited

Officials are expected to carry out further inspections before confirming the revised schedule. With the rain stopping, there is renewed hope of play, although the extent of delay will determine whether a full or shortened match is possible.

The toss timing is yet to be announced and will be updated once conditions are deemed suitable. For now, attention remains on how quickly the ground can be made ready after the earlier interruptions.
