CSK crush MI by 103 runs at Wankhede after Samson’s unbeaten hundred

Sanju Samson’s unbeaten 101 sets CSK up

Sanju Samson made 101 not out from 54 balls and batted through the innings as Chennai Super Kings reached 207/6. He hit 10 fours and 6 sixes and paced the knock without slowing down in the middle overs.

CSK were under pressure early after losing wickets, but Samson kept going. He found gaps regularly and picked up pace as the innings went on. The century came on the final ball of the innings when he cut a short delivery for four. It was his second hundred of the season and his fifth in the IPL.

The rest of the batting did not add much. Ruturaj Gaikwad made 22, while short contributions from Dewald Brevis and Jamie Overton pushed the total past 200.

Noor and Akeal control MI in the middle overs

Mumbai Indians never settled after the powerplay. The turning point came from the spin duo of Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein.

Akeal finished with 4 for 17, while Noor took 2 wickets and kept things tight in the middle. Together they ended with figures of 8-1-40-6, choking MI when they needed partnerships.

The pitch offered grip and both bowlers used it well. MI lost wickets in clusters and could not build any stand of note. Suryakumar Yadav top scored with 36, but he was forced to take risks early due to rising pressure.

MI collapse as CSK attack keeps pressure on

Mumbai Indians were bowled out for 104 in 19 overs. Their chase never recovered after early wickets in the powerplay.

Quinton de Kock fell inside the first two overs, and the middle order followed quickly. Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya both got starts but were dismissed before they could settle. Akeal’s double strike broke the chase wide open.

CSK’s bowlers kept it simple. They bowled straight, used slower balls, and made MI play across the line. There were no partnerships long enough to build momentum.

Big win marks another step in CSK–MI rivalry

CSK’s 103-run win is their biggest margin of victory over Mumbai Indians in the IPL. It is also MI’s heaviest defeat in the tournament.

The rivalry has often been close, but this game was one-sided. CSK controlled both innings from the middle overs onwards and never let MI back in.

The result takes CSK move up to the fifth spot, MI slip to eighth.
