SRH bat first after KKR opt to bowl
Sunrisers Hyderabad will bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders after losing the toss at Eden Gardens. The spotlight is on Shivang Kumar, the uncapped left-arm wrist-spinner who could feature in the game.
SRH’s top order has the ability to post a strong total on a flat surface, but their main concern remains with the ball. After failing to defend in the previous match, the team will look for a better overall performance.
All eyes on Shivang’s potential debut
At 23, Shivang comes in with limited domestic experience but notable returns. He has played four T20s and three List A matches, with best figures of 5 for 45 against Karnataka and 3 for 25 against Bihar.
He also adds depth with the bat, having scored 67 against Jharkhand earlier this season. Signed for ₹30 lakh, he offers a different option in the spin department.
If he gets a chance, the focus will be on how he approaches his role, especially in defending a total against a strong KKR batting unit.
