Karun Nair drops two as Iyer survives late chances
Shreyas Iyer was dropped twice in quick succession, off Kuldeep Yadav’s 15.2 delivery and T Natarajan’s 14.6 ball. PBKS were left frustrated as Iyer received two reprieves during a tense phase of the chase.
Shreyas Iyer also had a nervy phase but held his shape, staying unbeaten on 28 off 20 balls, keeping PBKS in the chase.
PBKS chase built on Arya-Prabhsimran blast, Iyer steady in middle
Punjab Kings’ reply started at full pace with Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh setting the tone early. Arya made 43 off 15 balls with boundaries and clean hitting, while Prabhsimran smashed 76 off 26 with regular sixes to keep the chase alive.
Their stand set the platform before wickets slowed things slightly. Iyer then anchored the middle phase, striking 28 off 20 with two sixes, trying to keep PBKS within reach of a steep target.
DC’s big total under pressure as PBKS stay in hunt
Delhi Capitals’ total of 264 for 2 is now under sustained pressure as Punjab reach 201 for 4 in 14.3 overs. The required rate remains high but not out of reach with 64 needed off 33 balls.
Vipraj Nigam picked up a key wicket, removing Nehal Wadhera for 25, while T Natarajan has struggled to control the flow despite bowling tight in patches. DC’s earlier batting effort, powered by KL Rahul and Nitish Rana, is now being tested as PBKS continue to push hard in the chase.
