Ravi Bishnoi produced a decisive spell to derail Gujarat Titans’ chase, picking up four wickets and bringing Rajasthan Royals firmly back into the contest. His performance came at a crucial stage, just when GT were looking to finish the game.
Bishnoi’s four-wicket burst changes the game
At 161 for 7 in 14.5 overs, GT were in trouble despite the required rate being within reach. Bishnoi struck twice in quick succession in the 14th over to halt their progress and trigger a collapse. His googlies and wrong ‘uns caused constant problems, with batters struggling to read him from the hand.
He first removed Rahul Tewatia, who tried to cut a short delivery but only managed an edge to the keeper Dhruv Jurel. The wicket ended a dangerous brief stand and added pressure on the lower order. In the same over, Bishnoi also dismissed Shahrukh Khan through a run-out situation, with Ravindra Jadeja and Jurel combining to complete the dismissal.
Earlier in his spell, Bishnoi had already struck to remove key batters, including Sai Sudharsan, and had broken the backbone of the chase. His figures now reflect a four-wicket haul, underlining his impact in controlling the middle overs.
Milestone moment in a match-turning spell
The match also marked a personal milestone for Bishnoi, as he reached 200 wickets in T20 cricket. He becomes the 19th Indian bowler to achieve the feat and the ninth among spinners, placing him in an elite group.
With 50 needed off 31 balls and Rashid Khan at the crease, GT still have a chance, but Bishnoi’s spell has shifted the momentum back in favour of Rajasthan. His ability to take wickets at key moments has kept RR ahead in a tense finish.
