Jaiswal adds to tally as Royals build on strong start
Rajasthan Royals continued their aggressive approach after opting to bat, reaching 135 for 3 in 13.3 overs against Gujarat Titans. The innings was anchored early by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who struck 55 off 36 balls before being dismissed by Kagiso Rabada.
Jaiswal’s knock included six fours and three sixes, maintaining the momentum set in the powerplay. He looked in control through the middle overs, rotating strike and picking boundaries at regular intervals before falling after bringing up his half-century.
Climbing RR’s all-time list
The fifty was Jaiswal’s 18th in the IPL for Rajasthan, taking him closer to the top names on the franchise list. Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson lead with 25 each, followed by Ajinkya Rahane on 19 and Shane Watson on 16.
With his current form, Jaiswal is closing in on Rahane and remains among the most consistent batters for Rajasthan in recent seasons.
After his dismissal, Dhruv Jurel kept the innings moving with 32 off 22 balls, while Shimron Hetmyer had just arrived at the crease.
Despite losing wickets, Rajasthan maintained a run rate of 10, with the early platform allowing them to push towards a competitive total in the final overs.
