Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, has announced the selection of young Mumbai all-rounder Suryansh Shedge as the replacement for injured seamer Jaydev Unadkat. Unadkat had been ruled out of the remaining matches of IPL 2023 due to a left-shoulder injury sustained during a training session.
LSG made the official announcement of Suryansh Shedge’s inclusion on Thursday, more than two weeks after Unadkat’s injury. The franchise stated in a press release, “Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday brought Suryansh Shedge on board as a replacement for the injured Jaydev Unadkat for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.” The franchise further disclosed that Suryansh Shedge was acquired for a price of Rs 20 lakh.
The 20-year-old all-rounder, Suryansh Shedge, had an impressive performance in the previous season when he scored 184 runs in eight matches for Mumbai’s Ranji squad. Additionally, he showcased his bowling skills by claiming 12 wickets in the U-25 State A Trophy.
With Suryansh Shedge joining the Lucknow Super Giants, the team hopes to strengthen their squad and compensate for the absence of Jaydev Unadkat. As the IPL 2023 season progresses, fans eagerly anticipate the young all-rounder’s contribution to the team’s success.
