The weather in Ahmedabad worsened just as everyone was anticipating the inaugural game of the IPL 2023 between the reigning champion Gujarat Titans and the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings on Friday.
The city experienced a typhoon and some significant rains on the night before the game. Anger-filled, dark rain clouds began to collect over the city, and what began as a drizzle strong enough to cancel both teams’ practise practises quickly changed into a downpour.
