During the 2018 IPL auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore purchased Yuzvendra Chahal. With a tally of 27 wickets in 17 games, Yuzvendra Chahal got 27 wickets in 17 games last season. Also in the 2018 IPL auction, Sanju Samson returned to Rajasthan from the Delhi Capitals. In 2016 he has joined the Delhi Capitals since Rajasthan was banned from the competition for two years. Sanju was named captain of the Rajasthan Royals in January of 2021.
The Rajasthan Royals will forever hold a special place in cricket history as they became the first team to win the IPL. Having a roster filled with talented players, Royals fans will hope that this could finally be the year in which the team ends its long title drought. In the IPL season of 2022, Rajasthan Royals finished second in the league stage and lost to debutants Gujarat Titans in the final. A whopping 863 runs were scored by Jos Butler, including four centuries, 83 fours, and 45 maximums awarded him the man of the series award last season.
