The Punjab Kings’ hopes of chasing down a target of 258 runs against the Lucknow Super Giants were dealt a massive blow as they lost their fourth wicket soon after Sikandar Raza’s departure. Ravi Bishnoi was the bowler who claimed the crucial wicket of Atharva Taide.
It was a tossed-up googly, and Taide went for the slog sweep. However, he failed to get enough elevation on the shot, and the ball went straight up in the air. Bishnoi kept his eyes on the ball and ran back a few paces before taking the catch close to his chest. He lost his footing and fell on his back, but he managed to hang on to the ball.
The wicket of Taide was a massive blow for the Punjab Kings, as he was the set batter and had scored an impressive 66 runs off just 36 deliveries. Taide had hit eight fours and two sixes in his innings, but he couldn’t take his team over the line.
With 118 runs still to score in the last six overs, the task is too much for the Punjab Kings, and the Lucknow Super Giants are in the driver’s seat now.
