A batsman is declared “hit wicket” if he accidentally dislodges his own wicket with his bat or any part of his body while playing the ball or starting to run. Several notable players such as Yuvraj Singh, David Warner, and Hardik Pandya have been dismissed due to “hit wicket” in the IPL.
