Nitish Rana and Ajinkya Rahane, two of Kolkata Knight Riders’ top batsmen, are among those facing the highest dot percentage in the Indian Premier League since 2020. Rahane is third with 55.35 % of the dot balls, while Nitish Rana is second with 57.71 %. Former Chennai Super Kings player Shane Watson, however, has the greatest dot percentage (59.31%).
Rahane scored 26 runs in 24 balls and Rana scored 26 runs in 16 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 61st match of the IPL 2022 at MCA stadium on Saturday.
Rahane was acquired for INR 1 crore by KKR after he was released by Delhi Capitals (DC). The former white-ball starter is going through a tough phase in his international career. Rahane, who was just dismissed from the Indian squad, is struggling with KKR.
So far, the 33-year-old has only managed to score 133 runs in seven innings in the ongoing season.
KK middle-order hitter Nitish Rana has produced 319 runs in 13 innings despite Kolkata Knight Riders being nearly out of the qualifying battle. In IPL 2022, Rana has a strike rate of 139.30, with 22 sixes and 20 fours to his credit.
Spectators and experts alike have criticised KKR’s frequent changes to their playing XI, particularly their choice to dismiss two of its retained players, Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Chakravarthy. In IPL 2022, the two-time winners have utilised the most players (20), with the opening partnership being the most uncertain.
