IPL 2022: RCB v LSG eliminator becomes highest viewed match of the season

The cricketing world witnessed a high-scoring thriller on Wednesday. Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 14 runs, with the game going to the last over. The contest became the highest viewed match of Tata IPL 2022.

In the high-scoring game, Royal Challengers Bangalore put on a massive target of 208 runs for Lucknow Super Giants. All thanks to the sensational knock by Rajat Patidar, who played from the start till the end. Patidar scored 112* runs off 54 balls with the help of 12 boundaries and 7 sixes.

Chasing the total, KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda played crucial knocks of 79 and 45 runs, respectively. However, both the batters lost their wicket in the death overs, leading Lucknow Super Giants to lose the match by 14 runs. The game was of lots of ups and downs. There was a stage when Hasaranga was smashed for three sixes in an over, bringing LSG back in the match. Both the sides were seen playing with a lot of passion and heart. The match attracted a total viewership of 8.7 million and became the highest viewed match of IPL 2022. Previously, the highest viewed game of the season was between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians with a viewership of 8.3 million.
