Skipper Hardik Pandya led the Gujarat Titans to their maiden IPL title on Sunday. In the first half of the match, Pandya bowled a spectacular spell of 17/3 in his four overs. He took the crucial wickets of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer to push Rajasthan on the backfoot. In the second innings, chasing a target of 131 runs, Pandya played a knock of 34 runs in 30 balls in the middle overs to provide GT the much-needed momentum.
Gujarat emerged victorious in their first IPL season, taking the prestigious trophy home. Post the match, Pandya’s wife Natasa Stankovic hugged Pandya emotionally, congratulating his maiden IPL title victory as a captain. Hardik, as a player, now has five IPL titles in his bag and is just behind Rohit Sharma.
