After scoring three golden ducks in the IPL 2022 season, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Virat Kohli commented about feeling helpless, noting that it had never occurred before in his career.
“First-ball ducks. After the second one (duck), I actually realised what it feels like to be like you (Mr Nags character), absolutely helpless. It hasn’t happened to me ever in my career, I think. I have seen everything now. It’s been so long, I have seen everything in this game,” Kohli stated in an interview with Danish Sait at RCB Insider.
“They can’t be in my shoes. They can’t feel what I feel. They can’t live my life. They can’t live those moments. How do you cut out the noise? You either mute the TV or don’t pay attention to what people are saying. I do both those things,” he further added.
This season, the right-hander has only scored 216 runs in 12 games with one fifty and has yet to reach his best form.
Kohli only achieved three golden ducks during the first 14 years of his IPL career, and he has already done it three times this year, which is much beneath his typical levels. In back-to-back games against LSG and SRH, he was defeated by Dushmantha Chameera and Marco Jansen in his very first ball, which was a shock for the spectators.
Kohli was bowled by Jagadeesha Suchith off the first ball of the match in the previous match against SRH, and that he had to take a lengthy walk back following his third golden duck of the season.
RCB has played well enough to win games despite Kohli’s poor performances, and credit must also be paid to their bowling attack.
