IPL 2022 Final: “Shane Warne of Rajasthan Royals,” Ravi Shastri applauds purple cap winner Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal took the wicket of Hardik Pandya with a beauty to bring Rajasthan back into the game. With Pandya’s wicket, Chahal now has bagged the purple cap and has become the spinner to take the highest wicket in an IPL season.

Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals battled to take home the ultimate IPL title on Sunday. Titans restricted Rajasthan at a score of 130, with skipper Hardik Pandya leading from the front. Pandya bowled a magnificent spell of 17/3 in his four overs. Chasing the target, Gujarat lost two wickets in the powerplay and were in a spot of bother.

However, Shubhman Gill and Hardik Pandya built a sensible partnership to take GT’s score to 86 runs. Gujarat was looking to finish the game early before Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a sensational delivery. Chahal bowled a classic leg-spin delivery to Pandya to get him caught on 1st slip. In the middle stump line, the bowl pitched in a good length area and turned towards the 1st slip, edging Pandya.
