Hardik Pandya in his first season as a skipper led Gujarat Titans to their maiden IPL title win. The ‘kung-fu Pandya’ delivered a brilliant spell of 17/3 in four overs in the first half of the encounter. He dismissed Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer to put Rajasthan on the back foot.
In the second innings, while chasing a 131-run mark, Pandya scored 34 runs in 30 balls in the middle overs to provide GT some much-needed momentum. The cricket fraternity applauded Pandya for his sensational captaincy throughout. Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer also posted a humorous video praising Pandya.

A remarkable season for Hardik Pandya. He has led Gujarat Titans to a first-season title with calculated calm and a maturity that would have seemed unthinkable a few years ago. He has now given India a leadership option for the future

"I'm not going to tell you from where I come from. I'll tell you where Im taking you. It's called sporting success. It’s a range my bro (MS Dhoni) has scaled, I've made no attempts to hide that I want to emulate him" ❤️#HardikPandya @MSDhoni
