The 14th season of the world’s most famous cricket T20 league, IPL is all set to start from April 9, although 12 days are still left before the season kick starts.
Prior to this, Rajasthan Royals team has to suffer a big setback as England’s fast bowler, Jofra Archer, who was earlier seen playing for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, has now been out of the team for the entire season. Jofra Archer returned to England after the recent concluded T20 series against India due to an injury on his right hand elbow, where further strategies are yet to be planned regarding his fitness.
Already there have been news that Archer can stay out of the first half of the 14th season of IPL and may return in the team for the second half, although on Saturday, March 27, the ECB has made a statement that this year in the Indian Premier League, Archer will not be able to play his part. The ECB gave an update on Archer’s injury on Saturday, March 27, stating that he may have to undergo a surgery for his injury. After the surgery, Archer needs to make sure that he gets enough rest and recovers completely so that he can get back on his international cricket career.
Archer has decided to stay in England this year due to England’s busy Test schedule. In a statement issued by the ECB, it said, “Archer’s right hand, on Tuesday has been scanned and he’ll undergo a surgery only after a review by the doctors. After the doctors confirm about his current situation, a surgery will be performed on Monday, March 29.”
