
As the date of 19th September inches closer IPL fans have been waiting eagerly for the fixture schedule of the Tournament. All the teams have reached UAE and are undergoing training before IPL starts from September 19.
Chairman Brijesh Patel said on Saturday that the much awaited IPL 2020 schedule will be released on Sunday, the news comes as joy for the fans who are waiting to see when their favourite teams are playing against which opposition. When asked about the schedule Brijesh told ANI ” The schedule will be released tomorrow”.
All the teams have reached UAE and has started preparing for the tournament and undergoing training for matches which are from 19th September and will be played across 3 venues which are Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
The players travelling to UAE had to undergone COVID-19 testing and as reported by the BCCI a total of 13 players were tested positive for the virus. However the board has not specified which players from which team have tested positive for COVID-19. The identity of the players and the staff was also not revealed.
“13 personnel have tested positive of which 2 are players. All the affected personnel as well as their close contacts are asymptomatic and have been isolated from other team members. They are being monitored by the IPL Medical Team,” the BCCI had said in an official release.
The IPL 2020 had to be shifted to UAE due to the Pandemic and therefore BCCI and (GC) were faced with the challenges on logistic level, also in yet another setback for the IPL was when the title sponsor VIVO pulled out of the tournament along with some other sponsors to which Dream 11 was named the new title sponsor. But against all odds the IPL will begin from September 19 and fans across the world will relive and enjoy the cricketing festival.
