IPL 2020 KKR VS DC: Shivam Mavi, the young fast bowler of KKR is catching attention for his performance

Shivam has been out of competitive cricket since December 2019 due to an injury and has made a comeback in IPL 2020.

Shivam Mavi is an Indian cricketer who plays for Uttar Pradesh in the domestic circuit. The young fast bowler made it to the Indian Under-19 team in 2017. He played the Under-19 World Cup for the Indian side and was one o the important bowlers in the squad in 2019. His pace attack and the team’s effort resulted in India winning their fourth title in the tournament. He took 9 wickets in 6 games which were the highest for India. He shared this feat with fellow bowler Kamlesh Nagarkoti.

Mavi was picked by KKR in the 2018 auction for a grand cheque of Rs 3 Crore which was fifteen times his base price. He played 9 games for the franchise that season but did not pick as many wickets. He had been out of competitive cricket since December 2019 as he was recovering from a fracture. He played the opening game for KKR in IPL 2020 against MI and picked crucial wickets for the side.

He received praises from the captain and also other known names in the cricket fraternity. He has been appreciated by Ian Bishop and Brett Lee for his impactful performance with the ball. Even after being out of cricket for a considerable amount of time he made a cracking return in the IPL 2020. Mavi is definitely a prospect part of the Indian side of he continues to perform this well.
