SRH went into the second innings having to chase a total of 190 runs in 20 overs set by DC in the previous innings. They lost wickets early on and at regular intervals which hampered their chase in the long run. Kane Williamson and Abdul Samad had a fantastic partnership towards the latter stages which gave immense hope to Hyderabad of making it to the finals. Williamson scored 67 runs in 45 balls and Samad scored 33 runs in 16 balls.

Kagiso Rabada’s 4th over of the match changed the entire complexion of the match. He conceded just 8 runs in the 19th over of the match and picked up 3 wickets in the over to crush Sunrisers hopes of winning the game. He picked up wickets of Samad, Rashid Khan and Goswami; all 3 batsmen who could have potentially helped SRH to win the game towards the end. Marcus Stoinis also worked his magic with the ball picking up 3 wickets for just 26 runs in his 3 overs. Axar Patel picked up a wicket as well.

Delhi Capitals have earned a place in the final of the Indian Premier League for the very first time as they will face the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday to conclude the winner of this season’s tournament.
