The Delhi Capitals manage to win a close game against the Kolkata Knight Riders as they defend their total and win by 18 runs.
KKR captain Dinesh Karthik put his side to field first however they could not curtail the onslaught by the Delhi batsman. Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer gave a match winning performance as he scored 88 runs off just 38 balls in the first half of the game. He was supported by opener Prithvi Shaw who scored 66 runs off 41 balls.
KKR’s Nitish Rana led the early charge scoring 58 runs off 35 balls and Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi led the charge late on scoring 44 runs off 18 balls and 36 runs in 16 balls respectively smashing 8 sixes combined between the pair of them. Their effort was in vain as South-African international Nortje picked up 3 wickets for Delhi helping them to defend their total.
This victory put the Delhi Capitals on the top of the table temporarily and they have been one of the better teams so far this season.
