The Veteran spinner made this decision of his know to the team CSK on Friday stating personal reasons for the same. Suresh Raina previously pulled out of the IPL also citing personal reasons and his decision was backed by his team mates. While Raina who had travelled with the team to UAE flew back home, Harbhajan remained in India.

The Franchise had a rough week with also reports suggesting two players having being tested positive for COVID-19 but there was some positive news for the team as the results of those players came out negative in a follow up test, the players are said to be under quarantine period of 14 days.

Last week a total of 13 members from CSK team were tested positive for the virus and the team training was delayed due to the situation at the CSK camp, the team had arrived UAE along with defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on August 21.

With experienced players like Raina and Harbhajan Singh absent from the 2020 IPL campaign the onus comes on the captain MS Dhoni to lead his side and perform well in the tournament and challenge for the title.
