Australian and English players reach UAE for the 13th edition of the IPL

22 IPL bound English and Australian players reach UAE for the Indian Premier League.

With the IPL starting tomorrow, the teams are all preparing to the best of their limits. The opening match will be played between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. These years IPL is different from all the others that have happened. The league has also moved out of India due to the rising cases of COVID-19 and will take place completely in UAE.

While all the players had reached dUAE and began training, the English and Australian cricketers were tied to national commitments and did not join the squads for training sessions With the limited over series being played in England, the IPL bound players had to miss training sessions with the squads.

The series is now over and the 22 English and Australian players have flown to UAE on a charter flight booked by all the franchises together apart from Mumbai Indians. The players were moved from one biosecure bubble to another so that they do not have to allow the mandatory quarantine period of 6 days. The players were all suited p in PPE kits and masks which made them barely recognisable.

There are 22 players who have reached UAE with players representing all franchise’s except Mumbai Indians as they did not have any player engaged in the series happening in England. The IPL will be played across three cities in the emirates: Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
