1. Shami hails from UP but represents Bengal in domestic cricket
Mohammad Shami is from Shaspur Village in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh.even after being from UP, he represents Bengal in the domestic circuit. When his father realised that his son had impressive bowling abilities, he took him to Moradabad to a cricket coach. He suggested him to go to Kolkata where Shami started playing for a cricket club at the age of 15.
2. He took 5 wickets on his test debut

Shami on his test debut against West Indies took 5 wickets. He took 5 wickets for 47 runs and became the eighth Indian bowler to take a 5 wicket haul on a test debut.

Shami took 17 wickets in 7 matches at the 2015 World Cup. The famous India-Pakistan match rivalry caught the eye globally and Shami made his special record. He took 4 wickets for just 35 runs which helped India win the game by 76 runs. It is his best figures against Pakistan.
