IPL 2024: ‘I feel embarrassed’, says Kohli after being called as the ‘King’

Virat Kohli has appealed to his fans from calling him ‘King’. The Indian batting sensation finds it embarrassing and discomfort when called by that name. Kohli expressed this feeling during the grand unboxing event of RCB’s new jersey held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Kohli was addressed as the ‘King’ during the event to which the fans couldn’t stop cheering. To which Virat humbly requested everyone to not mention him with that name.

“Firstly, you need to stop calling me that word (king). Please call me Virat. I was just telling Faf (Faf du Plessis) that I feel embarrassed every year when you call me that word. So just call me Virat, please, from now on; don’t use that word. It’s very embarrassing for me,” said Kohli during the event.

It was RCB Women’s second season as a finalist under the captaincy of Smriti Mandhana where they successfully defeated DC in the last over.

However, RCB men will be aiming to bring home their first as well in the 2024 edition. On the other hand CSK lifted their fifth cup last year.
