IPL 2021: “I am confident, I’ll be able to do well in IPL”- Cheteshwar Pujara
The new wall of the Indian cricket Team and Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara last played in the Indian Premier League in 2014 for Kings XI Punjab. The 33-years old batsman is still hoping to get a chance to perform in IPL and can able to show his skills in T-20 format as well.
Pujara has given his name for the upcoming mini-auction which is set to take place on February 18. The right-handed batsman is confident that he can also perform in T-20 format like in Tests.
“Definitely want to be part of the IPL. Given an opportunity, I am confident I’ll be able to do well in IPL also,” Pujara said to the media.
Cheteshwar Pujara last played IPL in 2014 for Kings XI Punjab. He played six matches in total that season and scored 15 runs at a strike rate of 100.80, with the best score of 40. After which he was released by the franchise and yet to find his new team. In IPL, he was part of the teams like Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Kings XI Punjab. He has only one fifty in his IPL career which came against Punjab when he was representing Bangalore in 2013.
Looking at the recent performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the teams might give him some value to get his service in IPL 2021. Also, the guts showed by the man against Australian pacers in the final Test at Gabba where he played a heroic knock to help his team create history will be in the mind of selectors in the mini-auction.
