Ajinkya Rahane led the Indian team to defeat Australia in a hard-fought four-Test rubber winning in Melbourne and then breaking the fortress Gabba in Brisbane last year after Australia had crushed the Indian team in the Day-Night Test at Adelaide.

The bravery shown by Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari had helped secure a tie for the Indian team in the Sydney test.

To fight back after they were crushed by the Aussies having their lowest ever Test score of 36 and then turning up to beat the ferocious Aussies is a tribute to willpower shown by the players and the leadership role played by Rahane.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of India’s triumph,’ Sony Sports Network has produced a docu-series named ‘DOWN UNDERDOGS – INDIA’S GREATEST COMEBACK’ which will premiere on January 14 and Gavaskar gave his comments to the channel.

Former Australian Captain Michale Clarke said India was worthy and had all the credit for fighting it out after the morale-breaking loss in the first Test.

Michael Clarke feels Indian team had different bowlers, not everyone bowls the same, using different tactics when required, all the bowlers had different skills set and so the credit goes to India for their execution but Aussies might have taken the success in the first match for granted.
