“Indian bowling attack was very disciplined”- Marnus Labuschagne in post match conference

Marnus Labuschagne who smashed a disastrous ton in the first inning of the 4th test praised the inexperienced Indian bowling line-up. He praised them for not giving away too many loose balls to Australia, especially in the first session on Day 1 at Brisbane.

Indian bowlers need appraisal as they were so disciplined in their lines and lengths and did not let the hosts carry a great start. The Australian openers were sent back to the pavilion by the Indian young unit very soon. Team India currently playing with a second-string bowling attack, because Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin are not in the team because of injuries.

In a post-match video conference, Marnus Labuschagne explained how difficult it was for them to score runs against the Indian bowling attack: “Indian bowling attacks are very disciplined, doesn’t matter who is bowling. They’re very planned and strategic and we saw that today with their bowling attack. They were pretty disciplined early and didn’t gave us many scoring opportunities in that first session,” Marnus said.

Also debutant Washington Sundar today became the first Indian to dismiss Steve Smith for his maiden Test wicket. Smith is one of the best batsmen in the modern era as he recently won the ICC Test Cricketer of the Decade. Also, T Natarajan picked up two wickets and helped India to stay in the game till the very end of the day. This shows how balanced Indian bowlers are and how much effort they are putting in to win the series for India.
