India to play one Test in 2022 in England- Report

According to ESPNCricinfo, it’s not ascertained yet if the Test will be a standalone tournament or the fifth Test of the Test series.

The 5-match series in England had a very sad end when the fifth Test match between India and England had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. With the report of India’s support staff member tested positive, the result of the series went 2-1 in India’s favour.

Talking about the reports, it is not certain yet that the cancelled Test match will be from 5-match test series in which India are still ahead 2-1. Where the cancellation of the Test series caused a lot of criticism on both the boards ECB and BCCI, especially a biased approach from BCCI where a tournament like IPL can be Scheduled on one side but not the Test match in such a small period of the gap. India will now tour England in 2022 where they will play 3 T20Is with 3 ODIs, including 1 test match.

 

“It has not been confirmed at this stage whether the match will be a standalone game or complete the series started in August, but it will avert the majority of financial losses incurred by the ECB due to the abandonment in Manchester. It may also avert any further disagreements between the ECB and the BCCI about the reasons for the abandonment and who should take responsibility for it,” further said the report.

In the interaction earlier where Test match was promoted instead of T-20 matches on the tour of India. Coming with this news the Cricket Australia Board has presented its proposal to the England Board for the Ashes series at the end of this year.

The reports are not certain yet but it is expected to be good with better bio bubble rules and quarantine measures from the previous India tour of England.
