The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will honour the late legendary footballer Pele on Thursday at the second One-Day International between India and Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens by projecting images of his artistic talent on massive screens.
Pele visited the Eden Gardens on September 24, 1977, to play for the New York Cosmos Club against Mohun Bagan. For the ODI, the remaining Mohun Bagan players have also been invited.
Kumar Sangakkara, a former captain of Sri Lanka, will ring the bell to start the game. During the inning break, a laser show has been planned, according to CAB joint secretary Debabrata Das.
