IND vs ENG: “I thought it was proper Indian conditions”, Rahane on pitch condition of second Test

The pitch conditions in the ongoing second Test between India and England seems so rough and turning. The players like Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane were even unable to read the conditions and lost their wickets to the spinners. The turn Moeen Ali get in the ball he dismissed Kohli is kind of a dream ball for many spinners.

India lost the first match h against the visitors by 227-runs and looking forward to getting a place in the finals of the ICC World Test Championship by winning the series anyhow. Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane played an important role on the Day 1 of the second Test when India lost their 3 wickets in 81 runs.

Rahane put up a partnership o 162 runs for the fourth wicket with hitman Rohit Sharma who scored brilliant 161-runs but gets trapped by the spinner Jack Leach. Rahane played the knock of 68-runs and helped his team to put up 300-runs on the board before the end of the day. He talked about the conditions of the pitch after the end of the day and revealed that they knew the conditions of the pitch and expecting the turns from the very first day of the match.

“I thought it was proper Indian conditions, and we knew it (the pitch) would turn from day one. We were talking about partnerships – Rohit and Pujara, and then Rohit and myself. We were discussing intent – positive intent on this wicket. What happened in the first game was (in the) past,” observed Ajinkya Rahane.
