Ahead of England tour to India, the talk of rivalry is at the peak. Some players even believe that this is going to be the bigger rivalry than the recent India vs Australia series. The experienced bowling unit of India is going to be the biggest challenge in front of the visitors.
England opener batsman Rory Burns has admitted that it will not be easy for them to prepare for Jasprit Bumrah as he is one of the finest bowlers in international cricket. Jasprit Bumrah is one of the key bowlers of India and that pacer’s unique action and bowling style will put England’s batsmen in trouble.
“Bumrah is quite a hard man to prepare for, isn’t he? He is obviously unique in terms of how he comes and bowls”
“It would just be about working those angles. I saw the recent series between India and Australia and they are in a pretty handy form, not necessarily their first playing XI at a different point, but still, they managed to get over the line, it is going to be a big challenge in their own conditions, looking forward to it,” Burns said.
The England opener also said that he and his team will be following the footsteps of the skipper Joe Root, who goes into the series against India in sublime form. Root recently played some astonishing innings against Sri Lanka, where he played a 200+ inning and a 150+ inning in two Test matches. The stellar performance of Root helped England to whitewash Sri Lanka in their home ground.
“Root obviously leads from the front, you have seen that in Test series against Sri Lanka, it was incredible to see him go about his business. He is a leader by example, in terms of how he captains the team, he is an easy bloke to follow,” Burns said.
