IND vs ENG 3rd ODI: India defeats England, nail biting match comes to an end

India registered its win in the deciding match of the ODI series against England, defeating england by 7 runs, India won the series by 2-1. The match was played today at the MCA Stadium, Pune. With England winning the toss, skipper Jos Buttler decided to bowl first.

India’s playing 11 included Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (c), KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant (w), Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Shardul Thakur, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prasidh Trishna and T Natarajan.

England’s playing 11 had the following players, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Ben stokes, Dawid Malan, Jos Buttler(w/c), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley, Mark Wood.

Virat Kohli, India’s Captain, said that he wanted to bowl the first innings of the match but since the toss was not in their favour, he was a bit disappointed.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar gave a good start to the second innings, earning the wicket of opening batsman Jason Roy and Bairstow in the Powerplay. Followed by this, Natarajan and Shardul, sent Stokes and Buttler back to the pavilion.

As India getting wickets at a quick pace, it seemed like thematch will be wrapped up soon. But Sam Curran, calmly managed to showcase his skills as batsman and scored 95 of 83 balls and almost took England to winning point. Despite Curran’s audacious display, the visitors had to go back with the disappointment of loosing the series.
The balling line up of India performed well with Shardul taking four wickets alone, Bhuvaneshwar getting three and Natarajan one.

Despite a number of mis-fields and missing catches, India managed to get victory against the visitors.
