In the ongoing third T20I between India and Bangladesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav achieved a remarkable milestone by scoring 2,500 runs in T20 Internationals. Yadav became the second-fastest Indian batter to reach this landmark, achieving the feat in his 71st innings. Only Virat Kohli has reached 2,500 T20I runs faster than Yadav.
During the match, Yadav, often known for his innovative and explosive batting style, won the toss and opted to bat. India has already secured the series with a 2-0 lead, making this final match an opportunity to reinforce their dominance. In previous games, India won the first T20I by seven wickets and secured an 86-run victory in the second match.
Speaking at the toss, Yadav emphasized the importance of setting a target and defending it, particularly with dew expected later in the game. Arshdeep Singh was left out of the playing XI, with Ravi Bishnoi being brought in to replace him.
Yadav’s journey to 2,500 T20I runs further solidifies his reputation as one of the most versatile and impactful players in the T20 format, often drawing comparisons with legendary cricketer AB de Villiers for his wide range of shots.
