IND vs BAN: Bangladesh’s Zakir Hasan gets maiden call-up as Tamim remains unavailable for selections

Tamim Iqbal’s injury has delayed his return, so Bangladesh has called up top order batsman Zakir Hasan for the first Test against India.

Zakir won the domestic four-day competition, taking first place in the run-charts, earning him a spot on the 17-person squad. In the first unofficial Test match against India, he was also named Player of the Match after scoring a resolute 173 in the second innings to secure a draw for the hosts. In the ongoing second match, the wicketkeeper-batter followed it up with a 46 in the first innings.
