India’s Shreyas Iyer is still at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru, recovering from a back injury, according to a report in PTI. Iyer was sent to the NCA for a fitness test after the same injury kept him out of the New Zealand ODIs.

Iyer had posted a few videos of himself working out at the NCA while being watched by coach S. Rajnikanth. The batter is currently going through his strength and conditioning exercises, but it’s customary to play at least one domestic league game before returning to play in international matches.

Iyer, who has been sidelined for a month, might not be added to the Test squad right away.
