Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian team, scored a century against Australia in the Nagpur Test (IND vs AUS). After lunch on the second day of the Test match, Rohit, who was drafted as the opener, reached his ninth Test century in 171 balls. He is facing Australia in his first Test century. He used 14 fours and two sixes to help him reach his century total. It is Rohit’s first century in a Test match as captain. After Virat Kohli resigned, Rohit was named the Indian Test team’s captain last year.
As captain, Rohit Sharma has a century in each of the three international cricket formats. He does so as India’s first captain. Even players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli were unable to accomplish this. Rohit led the team for the first time in ODI and T20 matches in 2017. He scored 208 against Sri Lanka in his first series of ODIs. Rohit scored 118 runs in one inning of the T20 game during the same tour.
Only three captains could do this before Rohit in international cricket. This includes Sri Lanka’s Tillakaratne Dilshan, South Africa’s Faf du Plessis and Pakistan’s Babar Azam. Now Rohit Sharma’s name has also been included in it.
