IND vs AUS: Ravi Ashwin shines as India ends the session 1 on a good note

Ravichandran Ashwin took two quick wickets ahead of the lunch break.

As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy moves to the Arun Jaitley Stadium, at the toss, the Aussie won and decided to bat first.

Ahead of play, Pujara received a guard of honor from the team led by captain Rohit Sharma,

Unlike Nagpur, the Aussie survived without losing a single wicket in the first hour.

Despite the challenging condition, the Assuies managed to cross the 50-run mark.

The first breakthrough for the Indian side came on the 15th over with the dismissal of Warner. The ball held its line and took the edge, caught by the wicketkeeper Srikar Bharat. This was familiar dismissal for David Warner, all thanks to Mohammad Shami.

Khawaja reverse sweeps Ashwin for a four. Then, Khawaja steps out and hits one clean over long-off for a six at the 17 over.

Warner’s replacement, Marnus Labuschange, drives it handsomely through the covers over Mohammad Shami’s spell.

Ashwin gets Marnus Labuschange lbw by beating him on the forward-defensive off the front foot. Marnus Labuschange is gone for 22 runs

In a back-back wicket, R Ashwin takes out Steve Smith for a duck. Smith plays for the off-break, and the ball turns away and takes his outside edge while KS Bharat takes an excellent low catch.

At the end of the first session, it’s fifty runs for Usman Khawaja-not out as the Asussies stand at 91 runs for three wickets.
