The Nagpur fans who crowded the 7:00 PM game since afternoon, had to wait for more 2:30 hours, to ultimately witnessing a power-pack game of 8-overs each side.
India and Australia will step out after umpires announced 9:15 PM as the Toss time, after delaying it thrice. The wet outfield fears injuries to players, particularly the bowlers and both teams will be aiming for the World Cup, next month which forced the game management to decide in a beneficial way.
The game will begin at 9:30 PM, having scheduled at 7:00 PM. After the original timing of toss was delayed, the umpires walked out at 7:00 PM for their first inspection.
After inspecting the pitch at 7:00 PM, the umpires and the management, including Anil Chaudhary, Nitin Menon, and match referee Javagal Srinath were not convinced due to the wet outfield. The second inspection was scheduled for 8:00 PM, which was further delayed to 8:45 and it was ultimately decided that the toss will happen at 9:15 PM.
