IND vs AUS: Head to Head clashes in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium ahead of the 2nd Test

India and Australia will meet each other in the 2nd Test on 17th February in Delhi.

India and Australia are set to face each other tomorrow in the second test of the four-test series tournament for the Border-Gavaskar trophy in Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The Aussies will come into the second test of the Border-Gavaskar tournament after losing the first match which was played at Nagpur. India won the first test by an inning and 132 runs. The Aussies have never won a test game in Delhi since 1959. India will play Australia at Arun Jaitley Stadium between 17-21 Feb 2023 in the second test of the Border-Gavaskar tournament.

At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, India has not lost a Test match since 1987. In the 34 Tests played in Delhi, the hosts have won 13 and lost six. On the other hand, the Aussies have played 7 test matches and managed to win only once, in 1959, by an inning and 127 runs. The team was led by Richie Benaud then. 

The last time India and Australia played against each other in Delhi was in 2013, and an MS Dhoni-led side clinched a 6-wicket win. In the final match, the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja picked up ten wickets between them in India’s big win against the Aussies. In the four-test series, the final match of that series saw the Aussies get whitewashed in a 4-0 loss. India won their 7th Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the last three games played worked in favor of spinners as they picked up 66 out of the 96 wickets. India’s Ravichandran Ashwin has taken 27 wickets so far.

In the seven games played against the Aussie, India has won three times, lost once, and the other three encounters ended up in a draw at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The highest total by the Aussies at Feroz Shah Kotla was 577 runs in the second innings on 29th October 2008. On the other hand, the highest total by India was 613 runs.
