IND v SA T20I: Quinton de Kock ruled out of the second match due to injury

Heinrich Klaasen took de Kock’s spot in the Lineup, while Tristan Stubbs was left out and Reeza Hendricks was given a chance to play.

India hosts South Africa in the second T20I of the five-match series in Cuttack (June 12).

Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs will miss the second game, Temba Bavuma stated during the toss. The reason, according to the SA skipper, is that they’ve been forced into making changes. De Kock has been forced to skip the match due to a hand injury. The Proteas called in Reeza Hendricks as an opener because de Kock is an opener. SA also needed someone to keep wickets, thus Heinrich Klaasen was brought in.

“We will have a bowl first. We don’t know how the wicket will play. It was easier to bat second in the last game. You can chase anything with smaller boundaries. You need to stay in the fight as batters. We have two forced changes; Quinton has a hand injury and Stubbs misses out, Klaasen and Hendricks come in,” Temba Bavuma announced after winning the toss.

The Temba Bavuma-led team comes into the match on the tail of a stunning victory in the first match of the series against team India. When forced to chase down a massive 212-run total in Delhi, the proteas performed admirably and managed to complete with 7 wickets in hand.
