Indian cricket team won the ODI series against New Zealand and it was a dominating performance from the host. Now, both the teams will face each other in the shorter format. The teams will play a three-game T20I series against each other starting from today.
There is a bad news for India ahead of this series as their opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has sustained a wrist injury and has been ruled out of this series against New Zealand. As after this news, the fans want to know who the two Indian openers will be in this T20I series. As skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli haven’t been picked up for this series so it is obvious that India will go with the young ones in the opening.
Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, and Prithvi Shaw are likely options for India in the opening position. As both the batters namely Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan are in exceptional form, so they are likely to be in the India’s starting XI. Prithvi Shaw isn’t expected to be in the team for the first T20I against New Zealand in Ranchi.
