India chose to bat first against Ireland in the second T20I at Dublin after winning the toss. Three changes to the lineup were made, and when captain Hardik Pandya announced that Sanju Samson is in the playing XI, the fans erupted in ecstatic cheers.

In order to manage Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s continued recovery from an injury, Sanju Samson was called up, Avesh Khan was replaced by Harshal Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal is rested, giving Ravi Bishnoi a chance to play in the second T20I against Ireland.

Samson enters the series after guiding Rajasthan Royals to the IPL 2022 championship final.

Samson was not included in the Indian team for the five-match home series against South Africa, despite his strong IPL performance lately.

Samson has appeared in 13 T20Is for India overall, scoring 174 runs in those 13 games but without a single half-century. Samson and Ishan Kishan have come out to bat first for India as they look to win another white-ball series.

India won the first game on Sunday with ease after chasing down 109 runs in 12 overs with seven wickets remaining. During the first T20I, they also won the toss.
