The fifth Test between England and India, initially slated for September 2021, is ready to take place on July 1, 2022. Following an agreement between the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the series will resume with India ahead 2-1. The final Test match will now be played from July 1 at Edgbaston rather than Manchester.
The T20I and ODI series between England and India has also been pushed back by six days due to the rescheduling. Now the T20I series will begin on July 7 at Ageas Bowl, while the ODI series will begin on July 12 at the Oval.
Before the series getting rescheduled due to an outbreak of COVID-19 in the Indian camp, Team India was leading the series by 2-1. The series saw some exceptional performances. Joe Root, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ollie Robinson were the players who showed some sensational skillset and kept the spectators on their toes throughout the series. With the 5th rescheduled Test to begin on July 1 2022, Let’s go over the series recap and remember some pivotal innings and what unfolded throughout the series.
