“He has apologized to players and staff for his intensity,” says skipper Pat Cummins

Skipper Pat Cummins clears the air of coach Justin Langer’s departure and the feeling in the dressing room with the new coach.

Former Head Coach of team Australia Justin Langer stepped down from his role and team Australia is currently playing with an interim coach while skipper Pat Cummins is believed to take the critical responsibility to win it for the nation for the upcoming tours.

Pat Cummins in an interview with ICC Media said that Langer’s coaching style was a bit intense to which the players and staff had already agreed but the former head coach has apologized on his behalf for which the skipper Pat Cummins thought that the apology was ‘unnecessary’ as the players and staff understood Langer’s love and passion towards team Australia as the veteran had sacrificed decades of life for the service of Australian cricket.

“So his ( Justin Langer’s) intensity was not the issue for the players and support staff,” said Pat Cummins to ICC on Wednesday.

Pat Cummins appreciated team Australia and its management for appointing an interim coach and consistently looking for a designated candidate for the head coach position as Langer left his role after a successful win in the Ashes. In the short period of 6 months team, Australia won the ICC T20 World Cup and dominated the Ashes under Justin’s coaching.

Pat confessed that the players are highly motivated and the team looks positive towards the opportunity given to them but the team is certainly searching for a ‘new style’ of coaching and skill set. Pat received suggestions from his teammates and its support staff while considering the new coach.

“To be better players for Australia, from this solid foundation, we need a new style of coaching and skill set,” says Pat Cummins.
