Former Indian bowler Zaheer Khan wants Ajinkya Rahane to turn himself in domestic cricket to regain his form

Ajinkya Rahane is in a lot of questions these days about his batting form. Indian former bowler Zaheer Khan suggests that Rahane should go to the domestic cricket so that he can regain his form and confidence there.

Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane is in a bad form lately in Test cricket. The batsman currently is in England for the five-Test match series against them. Rahane was selected in the Indian squad for this England tour as the team management and Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli believed in him even when he was not in good touch. But Ajinkya Rahane has only scored a single half-century in this whole Test series against England.

Rahane has played all 4 matches out of 5 against the English side but couldn’t do more in these matches. A half-century and a couple of zeros have put the Indian batsman in question for the further Test matches. India is currently playing their fourth Test at Oval and the series is levelled at 1-1. Ajinkya was featured in both the innings for India but scored 27 in the first and 0 in the second after facing 8 balls. His only half-century came in the second Test which was held at Lord’s Cricket Ground in the first innings. India had their historic win in Lord’s in the second Test. Seeing the 33-year-old Indian batsman, former world cup winner, Zaheer Khan suggested Rahane turn himself in domestic cricket is he can regain his Test form again, and also it will help Rahane boost his confidence.

“When you are struggling to gain from, it’s imperative to take a few steps back, see everything from a wider lens…if you want to play first-class cricket, do that because the pressure there is relatively less and you can try new things,” Zaheer Khan said in an interaction with Cricbuzz.
