‘Everyone in the world seems to start crying about it’, Nathan Lyon slams at Ahmedabad pitch critics
In the last two Test that India have won, there has been a lot talk about the pitches in Chennai and Ahmedabad, as spinner Ravichandran Ashwin perfectly put it, ‘the talk about the surface is getting out of the hand.’ India defeated England in both the matches and few former England players lashed out at the situations of the pitches.
The spinners have commonly overwhelmed the procedures in India and it has been the situation in this Test series too. In the Pink-ball Test, 27 wickets out of 30 wickets tumbled to spinners with Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Jack Leach and Joe Root unleashing destruction in Ahmedabad. Be that as it may, India won the third Test in 2 days and it led former players like Michael Vaughan, Alastair Cook, David Llyod and Andrew Strauss lashing out at the Ahmedabad pitch.
However, Australian Spinner Nathan Lyon supported the pitch by saying that ‘everyone in the world seems to start crying’ when the ball starts spinning.
Lyon told AAP, “We play on seaming wickets around the world and get bowled out for 47,60. Nobody ever said a thing.”
“But as soon as it starts spinning, everyone in the world seems to star crying about it. I don’t get it. I am all for it, it was entertaining.”
He added, “I was up all night watching it. It absolutely brilliant. I am thinking about bringing curator out of SCG.”
India have taken a 2-1 lead in the fourth-match series. The fourth Test match begins from March 4th in Ahmedabad.
